dmg events, an international exhibitions and publishing company, is seeking a Sales Manager for a 5-month fixed-term position in Cape Town. The Sales Manager will be responsible for retaining and growing assigned accounts, as well as generating revenue from new business. This role involves closing deals across the built environment value chain, from small to medium enterprise clients to large, blue-chip companies at senior management or director level.
Role involves:
- Consultatively selling event, exhibition, and conference delegate solutions.
- Soliciting new clients to exhibit and sponsor in trade shows.
- Making cold calls and having conversations with clients.
- Researching potential new clients for business development.
- Actively participating in sales meetings.
- Reporting sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts.
- Promoting and cross-selling events within the built environment portfolio.
- Creating relationships with clients through face-to-face meetings.
- Allocating exhibition space and prioritizing client placement.
- Preparing and entering contracts into Salesforce.
- Utilizing Salesforce CRM to track sales plans and targets.
- Participating in events to promote the company.
- Assisting in the coordination of move-in/move-out and on-site floor management.
- Ensuring a high level of sales & customer service.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience on a B2B sales team.
- Experience managing multiple customers and maintaining high-energy sales.
- Relationship management experience.
- Ability to identify and pursue cross and up-selling opportunities.
- Ability to handle customer objections.
- Good level of spoken and written English.
