HyperionDev is seeking a Head of Business Development located in Johannesburg. This role involves shaping the go-to-market strategy and team structure, while also propelling revenue growth through consultative sales expertise. Reporting to the VP of Revenue, the Head of Business Development will be a key member of the revenue leadership team.

The role requires demonstrable experience in acquiring, maintaining, and growing corporate training clients across multiple verticals. A foundational knowledge of regulatory compliance is highly desirable. HyperionDev is looking for someone with experience in building and leading successful business development teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Learnership Revenue growth strategy.
  • Leading Account growth strategy for SA’s top 100 corporations and sectors.
  • Ensuring ongoing alignment and coordination with the Academic Delivery and Student Support Services teams supporting Learnerships provision.
  • Exploring & Identifying additional opportunities for B2B growth within existing accredited training accounts.
  • Driving Operational efficiency for all areas of Accredited Training Delivery.
  • Leading on cross-business Accredited Training Operational Risk Management.
  • Driving Cross Functional Collaboration & Expanded Business Support across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years leading a team acquiring and delivering employer partnerships to deliver accredited training in South Africa at the scale of at least >R20mil a year.
  • At least 4 years of business development experience as a partnership manager or equivalent in the tech education vertical.
  • A deep understanding of the employer learning and development space in South Africa and a demonstrable track record of working with employers in partnerships to scale education.
  • A deep understanding of the B-BBEE ecosystem in South Africa in relation to learning and development.
  • Extremely strong business acumen.
  • Highly skilled at strategic analysis, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Undergraduate degree in business, management, law or a relevant field.
