Senior Frontend Developer at Chemaxon

Chemaxon, acquired by Certara, is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to join their Applied BioMath team. This role is based in Budapest and involves leading the architectural refactoring of a core Angular application.

The Senior Frontend Developer will independently drive the design, development, and implementation of refactored components and features. They will proactively identify areas for improvement, design prototypes for new features, and make key technical decisions.

The role involves collaborating with backend engineers and product owners, maintaining the existing Angular application, and ensuring code quality through testing and documentation.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the architectural refactoring of the core Angular application.
• Driving the design, development, and implementation of refactored components.
• Identifying areas for improvement in the existing codebase.
• Designing and developing frontend prototypes for new features.
• Making key technical decisions related to frontend architecture.
• Collaborating with backend engineers and product owners.
• Maintaining and supporting the existing Angular application.
• Ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability.

Requirements include:

• 7-10 years of relevant professional experience, with 5+ years focused on Angular development (v16+ preferred).
• Proven track record of refactoring and modernizing complex Angular applications.
• Experience working on applications with live users and managing ongoing development alongside architectural changes.
• Experience in designing and developing reusable Angular components and libraries.
• Experience with various testing frameworks and methodologies in Angular.
• Deep Expertise in Angular.
• Significant experience leading or playing a key role in refactoring large, existing Angular applications.
• Experience designing and consuming REST and WebSocket APIs.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on frontend interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects forward.
• Excellent communication skills.
