Yondr, a global data center developer, is seeking a Design Manager in Toronto, Canada. The Design Manager will ensure consistency in service provided by vendors and consultants, promoting best practices and continuous improvement. They will be involved in early site due diligence and master planning, deploying global standards, and ensuring technical governance for project delivery.
The role involves:
- Leading and managing the project design review process.
- Evaluating and managing contractor, vendor, and supplier performance.
- Coordinating design release, submissions, and approvals.
- Monitoring permitting activities.
- Leading company sustainability initiatives.
- Auditing designs and identifying inconsistencies.
- Supporting the delivery/construction team in resolving design-related issues.
- Managing design and technical due diligence of the acquisition program in the Americas.
- Interfacing with internal discipline leads and external customer requirements.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years' experience with highly serviced buildings and data centers.
- Prior construction design and/or design management experience or Architectural, Structural or M&E qualifications.
- In-depth knowledge of the design and construction process.
- Commercial acumen.
- Strong organizational and system implementation skills.
- Good relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience managing working relationships with cross-cultural experience.
- Experience working with information technology workstreams.
- Ability to take the lead in technical workshops and meetings.
