Curator / NGS Analyst (Veritas Intercontinental)

Job Description

LetsGetChecked is seeking a skilled NGS Analyst to join their Veritas Intercontinental team in Madrid. This role involves the processing, analysis, and interpretation of genetic variants from WES and WGS in a clinical lab setting. The NGS analyst must be familiar with ACMG guidelines and will be responsible for maintaining tracking documents, writing clinical reports, and communicating with laboratory and medical directors.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately perform pathogenicity assessment of patients variants using internal/external databases and published literature.
• Assist in defining and updating variant analysis strategies.
• Collaborate on group projects by performing data collection and interpretation tasks.
• Perform quality control testing in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
• Recognize and resolve abnormal results.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences.
• 2-3 years of experience in variant analysis and classification from NGS (point mutations and CNVs).
• Experience in analysis of other molecular techniques (Sanger, MLPA, etc.) is desirable.
• Ability to generate clinical report text in collaboration with genetic directors and genetic counselors, both in Spanish and English.
• Experience in reading and interpreting scientific journal articles and medical reports.
• High level of spoken and written English.
• Communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
