Job Description

Simtra BioPharma Solutions, a leading contract development and manufacturing organization, is seeking a Department Head for pharmaceutical manufacturing. The role is based in Halle/Westfalen, Germany. The Department Head will be responsible for the disciplinary and professional management of the department and for ensuring the production of parenteral drugs.

Responsibilities:

• Organizing daily production processes, including preparation, filling, and inspection.
• Managing personnel budget and cost centers, ensuring budget compliance.
• Ensuring occupational safety, health protection, and cGMP compliance.
• Representing the department to other departments (e.g., logistics, quality assurance).
• Conducting regular inspections such as 6S and GMP audits.
• Further developing the Lean Manufacturing System.
• Collaborating closely with other departments (process, quality, technology, etc.).
• Training pharmacy interns.
• Representing the Head of Manufacturing.

Requirements:

• Completed studies in natural sciences or engineering, ideally in pharmacy, pharmaceutical technology, food technology, biotechnology, or process engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with management responsibility in a pharmaceutical-technical production environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Management/Six Sigma and aseptic manufacturing.
• Project experience is desirable.
• Organizational talent, teamwork skills, communication skills, and assertiveness.
• Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form.
• Very good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
