Network Engineer

Job Description

Virtu Financial is seeking a visionary Senior Network Engineer to join their global network engineering team. The candidate will help define and lead Virtu's network platform, working at the forefront of the world’s financial markets, building global connectivity, and integrating complex networks. This role involves collaborating with software engineers to solve complex problems through software.

Role involves:

• Designing, implementing, and operating Virtu's network.
• Investigating innovative products and refreshing low latency trading systems.
• Troubleshooting with 3rd parties in a fast-moving environment.
• Transforming Virtu's way of working at scale by collaborating with software engineers.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering.
• Expertise in routing and switching (BGP/OSPF/Multicast).
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
• Good prioritization skills and ability to switch tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Humility and a passion for technology.
• Comfortable working with Linux utilities and different OS.
• Knowledge of network security, including firewalls (Fortinet/Palo Alto/CheckPoint).
• Familiarity with SQL.
• A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
