Senior Backend Engineer at Launch Potato

Launch Potato, a digital media company, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to enable the Data Science team to scale machine learning innovation by supporting and deploying ML infrastructure across business-critical services. The role involves maintaining and improving backend services, troubleshooting production issues, and standing up and maintaining infrastructure using tools like Terraform and ECS.

Role Involves:

• Deploying ML pipelines and endpoint changes.
• Identifying and removing backend bottlenecks.
• Maintaining and improving backend services.
• Troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Maintaining infrastructure using Terraform, ECS, and Lambda.
• Participating in code reviews.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional development experience using Python.
• Experience with containerized Python/Django (or FastAPI) services, including deployment on AWS.
• Experience collaborating with Data Science teams and deploying ML endpoints to production.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting production bugs in systems with limited QA support.
• Strong grasp of SQL databases, CI/CD (especially CircleCI), and infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).
• Comfortable contributing ideas, giving peer feedback via pull requests, and driving technical improvements autonomously.
