Smarkets is seeking a Compliance Operations Analyst to join their compliance team in Malta. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing risks associated with customers, including conducting checks on customer accounts in accordance with SOF/SOW policies and ensuring customer spending is affordable. The role will act as a subject matter expert in the analysis of customer documentation and ensuring Smarkets customers are crime-free and gambling affordably.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out checks on customer accounts in line with SOF/SOW policies.
- Ensuring customer spend is affordable.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on analysis of customer documentation.
- Ensuring Smarkets customers are crime-free and gambling affordably.
- Having an excellent understanding of our policies on affordability.
- Keen understanding of when to escalate customers to the AML team.
Requirements:
- Prior experience conducting customer reviews and analysis.
- Strong understanding of how to identify and verify a customer’s Source of Wealth and Source of Funds
- Good working knowledge of the regulatory frameworks applicable to an online gambling company
- Awareness of other policies applicable to customer analysis, such as customer affordability and safer gambling
- Eye for detail and experience conducting analysis on documentary evidence from customers
- Ability to analyse and evaluate complex issues and sound judgement in determining appropriate actions/solutions
- Professional certification from organisations such as the ICA or ACAMS are a plus
