Compliance Operations Analyst at Smarkets

Smarkets, a betting exchange with a substantial trading volume, seeks a Compliance Operations Analyst for their London office. The candidate will manage customer-related risks, conduct account checks, and ensure customer spending is affordable. The role requires open-mindedness, attention to detail, and data-driven decision-making.

In this role, the Compliance Operations Analyst will:

• Act as a subject matter expert on customer documentation analysis.
• Ensure Smarkets customers are crime-free and gambling affordably.
• Have an excellent understanding of policies on affordability.
• Have a keen understanding of when to escalate customers to the AML team.

Smarkets requires that the candidate has:

• Prior experience conducting customer reviews and analysis.
• Strong understanding of how to identify and verify a customer’s Source of Wealth and Source of Funds.
• Good working knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to online gambling.
• Awareness of policies applicable to customer analysis.
• Eye for detail and experience conducting analysis on documentary evidence from customers.
• Ability to analyse and evaluate complex issues.
