Privacy Counsel at DoubleVerify

DoubleVerify is seeking a Privacy Counsel to contribute to all aspects of its privacy program. The Privacy Counsel will support DV’s compliance activities by conducting reviews and assessments, leading compliance and risk mitigation projects, and negotiating DPAs with clients, partners, and vendors. This role involves working cross-functionally to provide guidance on privacy compliance and implementing Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default across solutions and operations. Responsibilities:

• Drafting, maintaining, and managing internal policies, processes, and procedures, as well as external privacy documentation such as privacy notices.
• Reviewing and negotiating client and vendor DPAs, including supporting the review of security requirements.
• Providing guidance focused on balancing best-in-class privacy compliance with a proactive, business-friendly, and technically sound approach.
• Leading PIAs/DPIAs/TIAs and other assessments as necessary.
• Supporting the Chief Privacy Officer with global privacy projects and initiatives.
• Contributing to strategic analysis of legal implications of using personal data.
• Collaborating with teams to drive a global data protection program and governance structure.
• Drafting, implementing, maintaining, and supporting communication of templates (e.g., DV DPAs).
• Supporting RFI/RFP processes as needed.
• Enabling deployment of various privacy management technologies.
• Staying current with applicable and emerging global data privacy and security laws.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience in privacy advisory, with ad tech experience highly preferred.
• Member in good standing of a U.S. state bar or qualified lawyer England & Wales.
• Strong knowledge of US data privacy laws, including CCPA, and other state laws and industry-specific regulations.
• Working knowledge of international privacy regulations such as GDPR and LGPD.
• Agile, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
