Specialist, LC-MS Analytical Development at DNA Script

DNA Script is seeking a highly skilled LC-MS Analytical Development Specialist to join its R&D team. This role is based in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre. The Specialist will be the in-house expert in Mass Spectrometry and will help drive forward cutting-edge analytical solutions.

The successful candidate will lead analytical development projects centered on oligonucleotide analysis and other biomolecules, utilizing state-of-the-art UPLC/UV, UPLC/MS, and capillary electrophoresis systems. This is a visible role where technical leadership will contribute to project success, standardization, innovation, and scalability of analytical practices.

What this role involves:

• Leading the development and validation of new analytical methods (sample prep, UPLC/MS, etc.) and improve existing ones.
• Managing oligonucleotide sample analysis, collaborating closely with R&D teams to interpret multi-technique results.
• Taking part in routine and high-throughput analyses, supporting projects across the company.
• Driving method transfer to QC and ensure robustness for future scale-up.
• Owning instrument performance: maintenance, qualification, SOPs, logbooks, and system suitability testing.
• Authoring high-quality protocols and technical reports, and contribute to scientific reviews and continuous learning.
• Promoting cross-team collaboration and act as an analytical science ambassador within the organization.

Requirements:

• MSc or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in analytical development using LC/MS (low and high resolution) on biomolecules.
• Deep expertise in UHPLC and mass spectrometry data analysis, including software tools.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – French and English proficiency required.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented with a hands-on, proactive mindset.
• PhD in Analytical Chemistry (Nice-to-Have).
• Industry experience (biotech, pharma, start-up environments) (Nice-to-Have).
• Familiarity with automation, SPE, and liquid handling robotics (Nice-to-Have).
