Job Description
The ACLU is seeking a Paralegal to support the Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative (ACDI) and the Women’s Rights Project (WRP) at its National office in New York, NY. The ACLU's ACDI confronts the criminalization of abortion care. The ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project fights for gender equity under law.This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week or eight days per month in the office. The Paralegal will provide litigation support, prepare briefs for filing, and conduct administrative and research projects.
Role involves: - Producing and filing briefs, motions, and other pleadings.
- Tracking key litigation and legal developments.
- Supporting attorneys in managing relationships with stakeholders and clients.
- Assisting in the design, planning, and execution of attorney trainings.
- Managing administrative tasks.
- Conducting legal and factual research.
- Maintaining case files and internal litigation tracking systems.
- Providing administrative support for the managers’ review of applications.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of ACDI’s and WRP’s website.
