Lead Software Engineer (Payments/FinTech)

Job Description

Xweave is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their team and help build the orchestration engine for the future of cross-border money movement. This role involves integrating crypto rails with traditional financial systems to deliver seamless, programmable, and intelligent fund transfers across the globe. The ideal candidate will be deeply technical and passionate about working at the intersection of blockchain infrastructure, AI agents, and money transfer compliance.Role involves:

• Designing, implementing, and evolving the core orchestration engine using Node.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL.
• Leading the architecture of distributed Temporal workflows to handle payment routing, retries, settlements, and audits.
• Driving the development of the internal MCP service for training and fine-tuning models.
• Maintaining and evolving the codebase to ensure clean interfaces.
• Mentoring junior engineers and guiding code quality.
• Collaborating with the founding team to shape product direction.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering (preferably with Node.js or TypeScript).
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and event-driven architecture.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL and ORM layers like Prisma.
• Hands-on experience with Temporal.io or similar workflow engines.
• Exposure to blockchain primitives, stablecoins, and VASP/payment rails integration (is a plus).
• Product-minded approach.
• Comfort navigating early-stage uncertainty.
