Software Engineering (Payments) at Menyala

Xweave is seeking a founding Software Engineer to join their team in Singapore. Xweave is building the orchestration engine for cross-border money movement, combining blockchain, stablecoins, and AI. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of blockchain infrastructure, AI agents, and money transfer compliance. He/She will be responsible for:

• Designing, implementing, and evolving core orchestration engine using Node.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL.
• Leading the architecture of distributed Temporal workflows for payment routing, retries, settlements, and audits.
• Driving the development of internal MCP service.
• Architecting and building LLM-powered AI agents using LangChain.
• Collaborating on AI model lifecycle.
• Maintaining and evolving codebase.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Shaping product direction.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering (Node.js or TypeScript preferred).
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and event-driven architecture.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL and ORM layers like Prisma.
• Hands-on experience with Temporal.io or similar workflow engines.
• Familiarity with LLM concepts and building agent-style systems using LangChain.
• Exposure to blockchain primitives, stablecoins, and VASP/payment rails integration.
• Product-minded.
• Comfortable navigating early-stage uncertainty.
