Compliance Review Manager (West Africa) at Paystack

Paystack is seeking a Compliance Review Manager to lead its Compliance Review team in Nigeria and Ghana. The company's mission is to accelerate digital payments across Africa. The Compliance Review Manager will oversee onboarding, identity verification, and compliance programs, ensuring alignment with global and local regulatory standards.

The role involves building and managing operational processes, collaborating with internal teams and regulatory bodies, and maintaining a secure and compliant ecosystem for Paystack's users. The Compliance Review Manager will report to the Compliance Operations Lead.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Compliance Reviews Team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of excellence.
• Develop and Optimise efficient KYC, AML/CFT, and transaction monitoring processes.
• Monitor and Evaluate Merchant Activity and adherence to regulations.
• Partner with Risk, Legal, Product, and Sales teams to address compliance smoothly.
• Analyse and Report Compliance Data using tools like Excel, Metabase, and SQL.
• Mitigate Risk by preemptively identifying high-risk areas and recommending solutions.
• Cultivate strong partnerships with banking partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Drive awareness and adherence to compliance policies across the organisation.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, KYC, AML/CFT, or financial crime risk management, with at least 2 years in a management role.
• In-depth knowledge of Nigeria’s regulatory landscape, including CBN, NFIU, and SEC guidelines.
• Demonstrated leadership that includes leading high-performing compliance teams.
• Ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable processes.
• Proficiency with compliance tools and data analytics platforms (e.g., SQL, Metabase, Tableau).
• Excellent and adaptable problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with regulators, partners, and internal teams.
