Cobblestone Energy is seeking a Short-Term Power Trader to manage and optimise their European power portfolio. The successful candidate will develop trading strategies, identify market opportunities, and collaborate with analysts and systematic traders to maximise profitability. A key focus will be on Eastern European and South East European (SEE) power markets.
Role Involves:
- Developing and executing trading strategies across multiple European markets (Day Ahead to Month Ahead).
- Identifying and capitalizing on market inefficiencies through analysis of price movements, renewable forecasts, and grid constraints, specifically in Eastern Europe and SEE.
- Collaborating with systematic traders to integrate quantitative methods with discretionary strategies.
- Producing data-driven market reports detailing trade rationales and performance drivers.
- Providing round-the-clock market coverage.
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ confirmed track record of solid performance trading in short-term European power markets.
- Demonstrable expertise and proven track record in Eastern European and South East European power markets.
- Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative tools such as Python, R, or Excel VBA.
- Ability to make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
- Experience in cross-border trading and capacity markets is advantageous.
