Business Engineering Developer at Rothesay

Rothesay, a leading pensions insurance specialist in the UK, is seeking a Business Engineering Developer. The role involves enhancing existing and developing new business-critical applications across front office trading, middle office operations, and actuarial functions. The developer will collaborate with Strats, the broader Engineering team, Traders, Operations, and Finance analysts to ensure smooth and efficient business and technology processes.

Responsibilities Include:

• Enhancing existing business-critical applications.
• Designing and developing new applications using Python, Reactjs, Web Services, SQL Server/PostgreSQL, and other technologies.
• Implementing changes in the existing “Slang” codebase in collaboration with the Strats team.
• Collaborating across teams to understand requirements and deliver new features.

Requirements:

• 3+ years' application development experience, ideally within the investment banking or insurance industries.
• Python programming experience.
• Ability to work with multiple programming languages and technologies.
• Familiarity with SDLC and development best practices.
• A team player with excellent communication skills.
