Job Description
Agile Space Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the development of personnel and internal processes for manufacturing space hardware. This role involves people management, project management, and program support. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will set the vision for the Manufacturing Engineering department, manage a team, and drive continuous improvement projects.
Role involves:
- Setting the vision for the Manufacturing Engineering department.
- Conducting team management and building responsibilities.
- Identifying, managing, and executing continuous improvement projects.
- Supporting and monitoring team performance and productivity through metrics.
- Identifying and reducing risks in manufacturing processes.
- Performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Reviewing work instructions and implementing best practices.
- Reporting on status of project and team performance to executive leadership.
Requirements:
- B.S. or advanced degree in related engineering or technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or similar field.
- 5+ years of project management and/or people leadership.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing controls, processes, procedure creation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with progression of hardware from design concept to production.
- Experience implementing Lean concepts.
- Experience leading Kaizen activities or Root Cause Analysis efforts.
- Experience with ERP/MRP and MES software.
- Experience with manufacturing planning and scheduling.
- Proficient understanding of GD&T and its practical application.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- US citizen or permanent resident.
- Ability to work onsite in Durango, Colorado.
