Putnam is seeking a Senior Consultant, a seasoned medical writer with expertise in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Market Access, to join their team in London. The role involves applying scientific and writing expertise to projects across various therapeutic areas. The Senior Consultant will be responsible for researching and writing content for global value dossiers, health technology assessments, clinical and economic literature reviews, and related deliverables. They will critically appraise scientific literature, develop visual content, and contribute to market access research projects. The role also involves project management, client communication, and line management/mentoring of junior colleagues.Responsibilities include:
  • Researching and writing fully referenced content
  • Critically appraising scientific literature
  • Developing simple visual and graphic content
  • Editing, formatting and quality assurance
  • Contributing to a range of market access research projects as required
  • Project management, including frequent client communication
  • Resource and workload management to meet internal and client-driven deadlines
  • Production of proposals in response to client requests
  • Line management and mentoring of junior colleagues with priority focus on medical writing
Requirements:
  • PhD in life sciences or MSc in health economics, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Experienced in developing reports, dossiers, and peer-reviewed manuscripts
  • Experience of proof-reading, editing, and formatting documents
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and a high standard of written work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, drug development process, clinical trials, and global payer environment
  • Experience of managing projects, including budgets and resource requirements
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
  • Excellent MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
