Legal Counsel at HoYoverse

HoYoverse is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its legal team and business operations in Singapore. This role involves providing legal advice, structuring transactions, and minimizing legal risks. The candidate will monitor legal and regulatory changes globally related to game development, publishing, and distribution. The Legal Counsel will also handle standard legal matters such as contract negotiation, legal research, and managing external legal counsel.Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the company’s legal team in Singapore, particularly in human resource management, cross-border procurement, and online games-related compliance research.
• Providing advice and structuring transactions, assessing legal risks, and minimizing potential disputes.
• Monitoring changes in the legal and regulatory environment globally.
• Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contracts and commercial agreements.
• Researching local laws and regulations.
• Managing external legal counsel.
• Performing general corporate and legal housekeeping tasks.
• Supporting Legal Counsel (Global) to manage game-related compliance issues and other international projects.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A law degree from a recognized law school in Singapore or a common law jurisdiction, and be admitted to the legal profession in Singapore.
• 2 – 5 years of related experience in the gaming and/or tech industry, preferably with a multinational corporation or international law firm.
• Familiarity with employment laws and cross-border commercial transactions.
• A strong background in contract law, drafting, and negotiation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
• Proficiency in basic conversational Mandarin (spoken and written) preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
