Job Description
The Regional Business Group Director at ESA will lead and expand the biological resources and land management consulting team in the Pacific Northwest. This senior-level role involves leading environmental project managers, biologists, and other experts supporting clients in various sectors. The position focuses on team development, financial performance, client engagement, and promoting an inclusive work environment.
Role involves:
- Providing strategic direction for the Pacific Northwest Biological Resources and Land Management Group.
- Contributing to ESA’s 5-year Strategic Plan and developing the group’s annual business plan.
- Supporting and implementing ESA’s Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) program.
- Determining staffing requirements for projects and ensuring thoughtful work distribution.
- Fostering a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive team environment.
- Leading marketing and business development efforts, including building a robust opportunity pipeline.
- Collaborating with Market Leaders, Practice Leaders, and other leaders to develop capture plans for key pursuits and strategic clients.
- Ensuring the team is engaged with clients and professional associations.
- Promoting inter-practice collaboration and cross-regional project execution.
- Ensuring company QA/QC policies and procedures are followed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience with people leadership and business operations.
- Experience in developing, tracking, and meeting financial targets.
- At least 10 years’ experience targeting, procuring, and retaining clients.
- Experience preparing business plans, strategic plans, and capture plans.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management, financial management, and industry best practices.
- Experience as a supervisor overseeing workload distribution and project delivery.
- Financial acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Experience in marketing and strategic business development.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental policies and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related field (master’s preferred).
