Job Description
Yondr, a developer, owner operator, and service provider of hyperscale data centers, is seeking a Design Director. This role involves heading the Design Management function, ensuring consistency, promoting best practices, and providing feedback on design management performance. The Design Director will assist in sales and marketing efforts, deliver quality service to clients, and manage the review of design quality and completeness.
Responsibilities:
- Compiling, approving, and checking key design management processes.
- Managing the development of generic deliverables templates.
- Overseeing commercial aspects of design management.
- Ensuring design solutions meet safety and quality standards.
- Monitoring key deliverables against KPIs.
- Engaging with external design teams to improve designer performance.
- Auditing designs and identifying inconsistencies.
- Maintaining relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Innovating project designs for low carbon solutions.
- Supporting the delivery team in resolving design issues.
- Communicating the latest technologies throughout the teams.
Requirements:
- At least 15 years’ experience with highly serviced buildings.
- Knowledge of Data Centres or Research and Academic buildings.
- Prior construction design or design management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the design and construction process.
- Commercial awareness.
- Strong organizational and risk mitigation skills.
- Good relationship builder and communicator.
- Experience managing cross-cultural relationships.
- Experience with information technology workstreams.
