Network Engineer at Virtu Financial

Virtu is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to become part of their global network engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to defining and advancing Virtu's network platform, supporting the company's expanding trading operations. This role involves working at the forefront of financial markets, establishing global connectivity, and integrating intricate networks within the financial services sector.

Role involves:

• Designing, implementing, and operating Virtu's network.
• Investigating new products and refreshing low latency trading systems.
• Troubleshooting with 3rd parties.
• Transforming the way of working at scale.
• Collaborating with software engineers to solve complex problems through software.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering.
• Real-world network automation experience.
• Configuration Management skills (Ansible/Salt/Puppet/Chef).
• Proficiency in Python (or other programming languages).
• Expertise in routing and switching (BGP/OSPF/Multicast).
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
• Good prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Humility.
• A love of technology.
• Comfortable working with various Linux utilities and different OS.
• Network security, including firewalls Fortinet/Palo Alto/CheckPoint.
• SQL.
• A bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT, Computer Science or other related discipline.
