QA Engineering Manager at StraitsX

StraitsX is seeking a QA Engineering Manager to lead and evolve the Quality Assurance function. The QA Manager will manage a team of 5–7 QA Engineers and SDETs, working closely with engineering and product teams to ensure quality is built into every stage of the development process. He/she will be responsible for both strategic planning and day-to-day execution, maintaining strong manual testing processes while building a clear path towards greater test automation and scalability. The QA Engineering Manager will guide the team, set direction, and work across departments to embed QA as a core part of how StraitsX builds products.

What this role involves:

• Lead and mentor a QA team across both manual testing and test automation
• Build and execute a QA roadmap to improve test coverage, tools, and processes
• Maintain a high standard of manual testing to support fast-paced releases
• Guide the team in identifying suitable test cases for automation and gradually scaling efforts
• Collaborate with engineering leads to allocate QA resources effectively across projects
• Improve release validation processes and implement regular post-release quality checks
• Deliver clear, actionable QA reporting to help the team and leadership track progress
• Provide quality-focused feedback to engineers and influence better engineering practices
• Identify opportunities to improve test infrastructure, test data management, and cross-team collaboration

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of experience in software quality assurance, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Strong foundation in both manual testing and test automation (e.g. API, UI, CI/CD integration)
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in agile, fast-paced environments
• Ability to balance near-term delivery needs with longer-term quality improvements
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence engineers and product managers alike
• Skilled in designing QA processes, writing clear documentation, and improving reporting systems
• Bonus: Familiarity with fintech, blockchain, or regulated environments
