Audio Designer at HB Studios

HB Studios, a driving force in sports video game creation and the studio behind PGA TOUR 2K Golf, is seeking an Audio Designer to join their passionate team in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The Audio Designer will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to build and implement high-quality audio for one of the fastest-growing sports game series.

Role Involves:

• Collaborating with Leads to maintain alignment with audio vision.
• Partnering with other departments to ensure smooth audio integration.
• Creating, editing, and implementing original audio assets.
• Ensuring consistency and quality of dialogue editing and integration.
• Designing, testing, and validating innovative features.
• Managing and optimizing a large database of audio assets.
• Identifying, tracking, and resolving audio-related bugs.
• Providing input to the improvement of audio tools and workflows.
• Mentoring junior team members and documenting audio processes and workflows.

Requirements:

• 2 to 4+ years of industry experience in Audio Design.
• Practical knowledge or degree in Audio Design or Music Technology.
• Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations (e.g., Reaper, Adobe Audition, Ableton Live).
• Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git) and data management software (e.g. Microsoft Access).
• Strong understanding of Audio Implementation Tools and Middleware (Wwise, FMOD).
• Demonstrated knowledge in editing and mastering dialogue, synthesis, sound design, and audio mixing techniques.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages relevant to game audio implementation.
• Experience with music composition.
