Senior Accountant (Maternity Cover) at Groupon

Groupon is seeking a Senior Accountant for a maternity cover position in Warsaw. The role involves preparing statutory Trial Balances for international entities, supporting financial statement audits, and business partnering with various cross-functional teams.

The Senior Accountant will work within Groupon's Accounting department, which focuses on providing financial information to the business and building financial systems to support new business lines and products.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of statutory Trial Balances for international entities.
• Support the audit of various international financial statements.
• Preparation and review of international financial surveys.
• Business partnering with Legal/Tax/VAT/Technical accounting teams.
• Ensure proper documentation of all reconciliations for internal & external audits.
• Liaise effectively with other accounting teams and other stakeholders.
• Ensure SOX compliance and standardization of key accounting processes.
• Complete investigations and data analysis as requested by manager.
• Focus on timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting, process improvement and automation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate environment.
• Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong Excel skills; NetSuite knowledge is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision.
• Enthusiastic, adaptable, and see challenges as an opportunity to grow.
• B2+ level of English (proficient in written and spoken English).
