Senior Accountant (Maternity Cover)

Job Description

Groupon is seeking a Senior Accountant for a maternity cover position. This role is remote and based in Poland. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various accounting tasks related to international entities.

The role involves:

• Preparation of statutory Trial Balances for international entities.
• Supporting the audit of international financial statements.
• Preparation and review of international financial surveys.
• Business partnering with Legal/Tax/VAT/Technical accounting for cross-functional projects.
• Ensuring proper documentation of reconciliations for internal & external audits.
• Liaising with other accounting teams and stakeholders.
• Ensuring SOX compliance and standardization of key accounting processes.
• Completing investigations and data analysis as requested.
• Focusing on timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting, process improvement, and automation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate environment.
• Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong Excel skills; NetSuite knowledge is a plus.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Ability to work with little supervision and meet tight deadlines.
• Enthusiastic and adaptable.
• B2+ level of English.
