Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support the PlayStation product and service planning and development departments from a legal perspective. The role involves collaborating with a global team and providing legal support for PlayStation hardware, peripherals, and PlayStation Network online features.
The Corporate Counsel will primarily support the Japanese development team, leading legal and compliance responses from planning to market release. They will provide clear and practical advice to stakeholders without legal knowledge, supporting business promotion, and working closely with legal teams in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting legal reviews and providing advice on product and service plans and specifications from a legal compliance and risk management perspective.
- Data privacy review and advice for products and services.
- Developing and operating a privacy-related legal compliance system.
- Planning and implementing measures as the person in charge of the global privacy team in Japan.
- Providing legal support as the person in charge of Japan for measures to improve the safety of PlayStation's online services.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of legal experience.
- Expert knowledge and practical experience in Japanese personal information and privacy-related laws and guidelines.
- Experience in legal review of products and services.
- Basic skills in MS Word, Excel/Outlook/Teams.
- Business level English and Japanese.
