Data Engineer at Flock Freight

Flock Freight is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data infrastructure. The Data Engineer will collaborate with data consumers to build a data platform and tooling to help scale the business.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable data transformation pipelines using Python and dbt.
• Stand up new low-latency data processing infrastructure.
• Apply software engineering best practices to data systems.
• Improve workflow orchestration and automation processes.
• Identify and prioritize stakeholder requirements.
• Participate in incident response for production data systems.
• Help maintain secure data governance and access policies.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with SQL (preferably Snowflake) and Python.
• Experience with data transformation frameworks like dbt or SQLMesh.
• Understanding of data modeling strategies.
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Familiarity with cloud data architecture.
• Familiarity with statistical, data visualization, and machine learning use cases.
• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
