Lead Product Designer at Calm

Calm is seeking a Lead Product Designer to shape the user experience of their consumer app. The Lead Product Designer will collaborate with various teams to create engaging user experiences that drive acquisition, engagement, and retention. The designer will also be a thought leader in design, helping to establish best practices.

The Lead Product Designer will be responsible for:

• Owning and driving end-to-end product design initiatives.
• Leading by example, articulating and presenting design concepts.
• Championing system-level thinking and contributing to the evolution of Calm’s design system.
• Acting as a tastemaker in visual design, brand integration, and motion design.
• Developing new processes and workflows with Product Management, User Research, and Engineering.
• Utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.
• Balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintaining a strong attention to detail during engineering implementation.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of experience in UX and UI design for consumer mobile apps.
• Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, Zeplin, and Principle.
• A strong advocate for accessibility, consistency, and high-quality user experiences.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers, Researchers, and Engineers.
• Comfort presenting and articulating design rationale to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Ability to incorporate both qualitative and quantitative research insights into the design process.
