License Graduate Professional Counselor at Backpack Healthcare

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) to join their team. Backpack Healthcare is a clinician-led, minority-owned online behavioral health company that provides accessible care for children, teens, young adults, and families in Maryland. The LGPC will provide professional social work services, including counseling and advocacy, to children and families in need.

The role involves:

• Conducting assessments to determine client needs and develop individualized service plans.
• Providing counseling and support to clients dealing with mental health, social, and emotional challenges.
• Advocating for clients and connect them with appropriate community resources and services.
• Collaborating with healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to coordinate client care.
• Maintaining detailed and confidential client records in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
• Educating clients and their families about coping strategies, available services, and support networks.
• Participating in case reviews, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements include:

• Master’s Degree in Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current LGPC license in Maryland.
• Strong knowledge of social work principles, ethics, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software/other relevant software.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
