Staff Engineer I, Machine Learning Research (402642) at Samsung Research America

Samsung is seeking a Staff Engineer I, Machine Learning Research, to join their team in Mountain View, CA. This role involves analyzing user needs, designing and developing computer software, and recommending software upgrades. The engineer will create prototypes, design experiments, and integrate innovative software solutions into Samsung’s Security and Intelligence services.

The Staff Engineer will research innovative ideas, design data pipelines, and create machine learning solutions for Samsung’s B2B products. They will develop large-scale production-level machine learning algorithms and systems, and productize machine learning solutions for Samsung services. The role also includes exploring cutting-edge technologies and productizing machine learning algorithms from Samsung Research teams and research papers.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing user needs and designing and developing computer software.
• Recommending computer software upgrades.
• Creating quick prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
• Designing experiments and performing evaluations.
• Collaborating with a team of developers and research engineers.
• Researching innovative ideas and designing end-to-end data pipelines.
• Developing and researching large-scale production-level machine learning algorithms.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience developing data generation solution software.
• Experience with Python, REST, AWS S3, Docker, Git, Postman, MongoDB, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Keras, Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn, OpenCV, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Pydantic.
