Community Change is seeking a Senior Organizer to bolster the childcare movement by supporting state-based organizing groups, particularly in conservative states. This role involves a collaborative project with two national childcare allied organizations, focusing on landscape assessments of state childcare ecosystems. The Senior Organizer will provide coaching and training to potential partners, strengthening their organizing infrastructure with an emphasis on base building, power building, and campaign work.Role involves:
  • Coaching state-based organizing groups on childcare strategies.
  • Assessing organizational strengths and challenges in childcare organizing.
  • Supporting campaign strategies and base-building efforts.
  • Connecting partners to internal Community Change resources.
  • Strengthening partners' internal capacity for organizing work.
  • Serving as a liaison within the collaborative project.
  • Connecting partners to Community Change’s national strategies.
  • Drafting memos and plans communicating the opportunities and needs of each state partner organization.
  • Collaborating across teams at Community Change.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Organizing Director, Campaign Director, or Executive Director.
  • Senior-level understanding of organizing principles and campaign strategies.
  • Experience as a staff lead on campaigns.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial, gender, economic, and social justice.
  • Experience with training organizing fundamentals.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to assess project outcomes and present solutions.
  • Experience with collaborative decision-making and leading coalitions.
  • Experience working with a remote team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
