Senior Engineer - AI (Remote) at Pair Team

Pair Team is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to focus on building and launching AI-powered experiences within the healthcare sector. This role involves rapid prototyping and iterating on AI solutions that directly benefit patients and enhance the efficiency of care teams. The Senior AI Engineer will leverage their expertise in AI models and tools to design intelligent workflows, automate decision-making processes, and improve overall user experience.

The role is pivotal in implementing Pair Team's AI strategy, ensuring responsible and high-quality results in various environments. The candidate will work closely with product, engineering, operations, and clinical stakeholders to align AI efforts with user needs.

Responsibilities:

• Rapidly prototype, test, and ship AI-powered features.
• Optimize for speed-to-learning and validate assumptions.
• Apply modern AI patterns (LLMs, embeddings, RAG, agents, fine-tuning, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Build robust evaluation pipelines and quality gates.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Familiarity with modern AI tools and frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Llama, etc).
• Proven ability to rapidly prototype and deliver AI-driven features.
• Comfortable evaluating model performance and managing trade-offs.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar backend frameworks is a plus.
• Passionate about improving care for individuals navigating chronic health and social challenges.
