Staff Engineer, SOC Design at Samsung Semiconductor

Samsung is seeking a Staff Engineer, SOC Design to join their Advanced Controller Development (ACD) team. This role involves defining chip-level hardware architecture, performing logic design and RTL implementation, integrating third-party IPs, and analyzing power consumption. The Staff Engineer will collaborate with system and firmware teams, work closely with design verification and physical design teams, and contribute to feature innovation for product roadmaps.

• Defining chip-level hardware architecture and design requirements.
• Performing logic design and RTL implementation.
• Integrating third-party IPs with system bus, peripherals, and CPU cores.
• Modeling and analyzing dynamic and static power consumption.
• Working with design verification and physical design teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of experience or a Master’s/PhD in a related field with relevant experience.
• Experience in writing micro architecture specification and RTL code.
• Experience in ASIC design flow and commercial IPs (PCIe, CPU, DRAM interfaces).
• Experience in high frequency clock distribution design and analysis.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Tcl/Perl, Python is a plus).
• Knowledge of storage technologies (NAND flash, SSD, etc.).
• Understanding of server memory and storage hierarchies.
