Staff Engineer, SoC Design Verification at Samsung Semiconductor

Samsung Semiconductor is seeking a Staff Engineer for SoC Design Verification to join the Advanced Controller Development (ACD) team. This role involves understanding system architecture, creating verification plans and requirements, generating test cases, building coverage models, and running regressions. The Staff Engineer will work closely with designers and architects to sign off on verification requirements.

• Understand the system-architecture and micro-architecture of the chip
• Create verification plan (Vplan) and verification requirement (VRs)
• Generate constraints random test cases (directed, focused, and so on)
• Create coverage model for function coverage
• Create SVAs to increase function coverage
• Hold the verification reviews with designer and architect to sign off the VRs
• Build auto verification flows to run the regression

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of experience or Master’s with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years in ASIC verification
• Expert level knowledge and experience in HVL methodology (UVM)
• Solid verification skills in constrained random testing, and debugging
• Strong programming language skills including C++, Assembly
• Strong knowledge of the coverages models
• Strong knowledge in verification flow and tools
• Experience in storage interfaces like PCIe, DRAM, and CPU
• Deep understanding of flash memory controller architecture, and related IP verification, SOC verification process and tools
• Working knowledge of storage technologies (NAND flash, SSD, etc.)
• Understanding of the emerging technologies (CXL, Computation in memory and storage, Ethernet-attached SSD etc.)
• Experience with performance modeling of embedded systems is beneficial
• Track record of innovation and creativity in problem solving
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet aggressive project deadlines in a team environment
• Ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams
• Self-motivated problem-solver with an ability to work well in a team
