M&S Engineering is seeking a highly organized and energetic Electric Distribution Designer for a non-exempt position in Fort Worth, TX. The Electric Distribution Designer will be responsible for producing electric distribution field designs, staking of distribution facilities, project estimation, and preparation of construction prints using electronic design/estimation software, adhering to the client's standards and specifications. This is an onsite role, reporting to the office.
Responsibilities include:
- Representing M&S Engineering professionally when interacting with property owners, other engineering firms, and construction resources.
- Staying updated with evolving technologies, work planning, and design methodologies in Electric Distribution Design.
- Mentoring and training other staff members to share design knowledge.
- Designing both overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.
- Recognizing electric distribution framing and components from 4kV to 35kV.
- Performing distribution line design calculations for structure loading, guying, and conductor sag.
- Taking responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of work.
- Demonstrating strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Managing multiple projects with varying requirements and priorities.
- Using computer software such as MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Managing time effectively and multitasking.
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions and traveling, including overnight stays.
- Walking across various terrains and carrying surveying and staking equipment.
- Using tools to clear brush and locate property identifiers.
Requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- Current Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
