Armaments Research Company (ARC) is seeking an Engineering Program Manager to play a crucial role in planning, executing, and delivering complex technical projects. The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) will collaborate with the Director of Engineering and the technical program manager to align external project work to internal product milestones. Role Responsibilities: - Stay current on ARC’s business and technical objectives
- Collaborate with product and program stakeholders to generate high level technical requirements.
- Collaborate with the engineering quality assurance team to develop test plans for new capabilities.
- Define scope, schedule, and success criteria for small engineering projects and one-off software development tasks.
- Break down work into manageable components and assign to contract engineers.
- Track progress, validate deliverables, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Onboard, support, and offboard short-term contractors.
- Assign and monitor contractor task performance and help resolve blockers.
- Maintain quality standards across variable talent pools.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to align contractor output with product or platform goals.
- Provide technical context and system understanding to external contributors.
- Participate in code reviews or technical deep dives when needed to support integration efforts.
- Serve as the primary liaison between contractors, internal teams, and project stakeholders.
- Maintain clear, concise documentation of task status, changes, and risks.
- Ensure traceability of deliverables and versioned handoffs.
- Use Jira to assign, monitor, and report on tasks.
- Use Confluence to capture and manage requirements, designs, and other engineering artifacts.
- Coordinate access to dev environments, repos, APIs, and test systems.
- Identify tooling or workflow improvements to streamline external contributions.
Relevant Skills and Experience: - Background in software engineering or other related technical discipline
- 3-5 years experience in project management, technical program management, or engineering management.
- Previous experience managing short-term contractors, freelancers, or remote engineering contributors.
- Familiarity with agile practices and version control (e.g., Git).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with documentation-focused tools such as Confluence, Jira.
