Job Description
BEAM is seeking a Faculty member for their BEAM Discovery program. This role is based in either New York, NY, or Los Angeles, CA. The Faculty member will be responsible for creating pathways for students from low-income and underserved communities to become scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and computer scientists. The Faculty member will play a crucial role in shaping the minds of young students and fostering their love for mathematics.

The role involves:
  • Teaching one or two daily classes using pre-made curriculum.
  • Engaging in open math time.
  • Collaborating with teaching assistants.
  • Joining student activities to build community.
  • Participating in staff meetings and professional development.

Requirements:
  • At least three years of classroom teaching experience.
  • A commitment to inquiry-based learning.
  • A passion for working in a mission-driven environment focused on diversity, inclusion, and mentorship.
  • A strong foundation in problem-solving, puzzles, and deep mathematical thinking.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn alongside students and fellow educators.
