Job Description
The Solar Field Service Technician role at Palmetto is focused on ensuring customer satisfaction by swiftly and professionally resolving system performance issues. This role involves supporting Service, Installation, Job Closeout, and Permitting/Inspection needs throughout the lifespan of a customer’s solar system. The technician will report to the Services Sr. Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide onsite troubleshooting and repair of solar systems.
  • Document visits and complete job close out reports.
  • Schedule site visits directly with customers.
  • Work with local field teams to optimize resolution times.
  • Provide feedback to improve installation quality.
  • Assist with close out of pre-energization issues.
  • Provide feedback to the Customer Experience team.
  • Complete site surveys, inspections, and document collection.
  • Serve as the key Palmetto field representative.
  • Communicate with homeowners regarding arrival times.
  • Perform O&M work and monitoring support.
  • Perform partner and internal field training.
  • Perform safety and quality site audits and manage site inspections.
  • Perform field installations including PV, storage, MPU or structural upgrades.
  • Perform damage and claims investigations.

Requirements:
  • Electrical License (only required in MA, a plus elsewhere)
  • 3+ years of experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting residential solar & storage systems.
  • General knowledge of residential home maintenance and repair.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license.
