Plastic Fabricator

COHO Consulting Group is seeking a Plastic Fabricator to support a contract at Robins AFB. The Plastic Fabricator will be responsible for planning, laying out, modifying, and fabricating unconventional, one-of-a kind items for one-time projects, to support experimental, developmental, or testing activities. They will work closely with scientists and engineers to determine the most feasible materials and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities include:

• Receiving specifications of the desired final product from the supervisor.
• Applying mathematics to calculate loads, fits, sizes, and weights.
• Fabricating items to extremely close tolerances.
• Making special jigs and fixtures.
• Adapting shop practices, methods, and procedures for use in unorthodox processes.
• Recommending changes to established methods.
• Planning and laying out items with hard-to-define reference points.
• Manufacturing master patterns and molds.

Requirements:

• Must have the ability to pass a government background check that includes fingerprints.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the properties and machining characteristics of a variety of composite or plastic materials.
