Lead Credit Analyst, Business Borrowing at Monzo

Monzo is seeking a Lead Credit Analyst to join their Business Borrowing team. This role involves developing credit and pricing strategies for business lending products, monitoring performance, and improving credit underwriting. The candidate will work with various teams to design and deliver initiatives, develop credit models, and write credit proposals.

Role Involves:

• Leading initiatives in designing and implementing credit and pricing strategies.
• Monitoring the performance of existing strategies.
• Supporting the design and roll-out of new products and customer journeys.
• Improving credit underwriting and managing portfolio risk.
• Working with engineering, marketing, product, risk, and control teams.
• Developing and monitoring credit models.
• Writing credit proposals for underwriting policy.
• Building and maintaining database tables and dashboards.
• Assessing the lending portfolio performance.

Requirements:

• Strong domain expertise in providing lending products to small businesses.
• Deep understanding of business lending, regulation, and industry best practices.
• Solid understanding of lending economics and experience in developing underwriting strategies and credit models.
• Strong analytical and data capabilities with technical coding skills.
• Proficiency in SQL; Python and Looker experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in project management and cross-team coordination.
• Understanding of UK lending regulations.
• High motivation and a desire to positively impact customers and Monzo.
