Monzo is seeking a Lead Credit Analyst to join their Borrowing team. This role involves crafting credit and pricing strategies for unsecured lending products, working with various teams to build profitable lending portfolios, and creating amazing products for Monzo's customers. The Lead Credit Analyst will spearhead initiatives to enhance credit underwriting, drive growth, and manage portfolio risk.
Role involves:
- Improving credit underwriting
- Boosting growth
- Managing portfolio risk
- Designing and rolling out new lending strategies
- Monitoring performance of existing strategies
- Collaborating with engineering, marketing, product, risk and control teams
- Developing credit control and portfolio management frameworks
- Developing, maintaining, and refining credit models
- Building and maintaining database tables and dashboards
- Supporting the design and roll-out of new products and customer journeys
- Assessing lending portfolio performance
- Mentoring junior team members
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in unsecured retail lending.
- Deep understanding of the unsecured retail lending market and pricing dynamics.
- Strong understanding of lending economics and experience developing underwriting strategies and credit models.
- Strong analytical and data capabilities with technical coding skills (SQL required, Python and Looker a plus).
- Understanding of UK lending regulations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive product improvements.
- Strong communication skills.
- Project management and coordination experience.
- Collaborative team player.
- High motivation to positively impact customers and Monzo.
