Job Description
Verisign is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the security, stability, and resilience of the internet infrastructure. The Network Engineer will be responsible for bridging the gap between current deployments and future implementations, driving technology deployment, and ensuring network quality through testing and validation. They will also play a key role in root cause analysis and remediation, acting as a liaison between network architecture and operations.
Role involves:
- Acting as a liaison between network architecture and operations.
- Network testing and quality assurance.
- Network troubleshooting and fault isolation.
- Researching and integrating industry best practices in network orchestration and configuration management.
- Identifying gaps and leading the execution of solutions.
- Designing and implementing auto-remediation functions.
Requirements:
- Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, etc.).
- Understanding of infrastructure protocols (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, VRRP, DHCP, TCP, UDP), IP addressing (IPv6), and application protocols (DNS, SMTP, HTTP, etc.).
- Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, Openstack, Micro-segmentation, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Shell scripting.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Exceptional documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 8 + years’ related experience.
