Lightspeed is seeking a Staff Software Developer to join one of its dynamic teams in Montreal. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and development of the company's hospitality product group, aiming to reach new markets and strengthen its comprehensive business platform. This role focuses on creating an advanced and modular framework for users and access rights, helping merchants with numerous locations easily configure and manage their business setup, regardless of size or complexity.

The Staff Software Developer will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to improving engineering practices, implementing cutting-edge technologies, and maintaining a stimulating work environment. The role involves redefining the hospitality experience on a global scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with industry experts to enhance the omni-channel product through innovative feature development.
  • Enrich and expand product capabilities by contributing to the AWS-hosted microservices platform.
  • Manage new feature development and maintain existing partner integrations.
  • Report to the Development Team Lead and maintain strong interaction with product managers, product designers, and platform teams.
  • Participate in daily agile meetings, brainstorm innovative ideas, and update solution-oriented concepts.
  • Promote superior coding quality and accountability, actively contributing to infrastructure health.
  • Foster growth within the team by disseminating knowledge and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Java and 8+ years of production experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Spring Framework.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
  • Proficiency in English and ability to communicate effectively.
