Provisions and Forecasting Lead, Borrowing at Monzo

Monzo is seeking a Provisions and Forecasting Lead to join their Borrowing Credit & Data team. This role is crucial for supporting the rapid growth and evolution of Monzo's portfolio. The ideal candidate will lead the development and integration of analytical dashboards and play a key role in critical business processes such as budgeting and ICAAP.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading projects for development, implementation, and maintenance of Stress Testing and Forecasting models.
• Leading business-critical processes such as ICAAP and Budgeting, including presenting results to 2LOD, senior management, and Executives.
• Developing next-generation performance tracking and analytics toolbox.
• Actively participating in the monthly provisions process and delivering outcomes to Monzo’s senior team.
• Reviewing and challenging a wider range of modelling solutions across the Borrowing collective.
• Collaborating with portfolio strategy, 2LOD, finance, and external audit teams.
• Managing a team of up to 2 FTEs and owning their development.

The ideal candidate should have:

• A strong background in IFRS9 impairments.
• Extensive experience in developing, validating, or monitoring Credit Models.
• Strong analytical skills and a track record of using these to deliver technical projects.
• A solid technical toolkit (SQL and either Python or R).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive and impact-driven mindset.
