Job Description
Canonical is seeking a Director of Talent Science to lead delivery excellence within the Talent Science team. This role involves working directly with the Global Head of Talent Science and people managers, ensuring objective, scientifically rigorous, and efficient hiring processes. The Director will be accountable for project delivery related to hiring outcomes, driving efficiencies, and creating new processes, while also coaching and developing team members.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and delivering the strategic Talent Science project roadmap.
- Designing and implementing solutions to complex problems to ensure exceptional talent acquisition.
- Ensuring talent selection initiatives align with high-performance outcomes and career frameworks.
- Coaching and mentoring team members to develop analytical capabilities and thought leadership.
- Representing the team in the absence of the Head of Talent Science.
- Collaborating with company leaders to communicate the vision for talent at Canonical.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in psychology or a related field.
- Significant experience working with talent outcomes in the corporate space, ideally in technology or consulting.
- Deep understanding of career frameworks and talent selection criteria.
- Advanced analytical ability using SQL, R, and/or Python.
- Strong project management skills and a track record of leadership.
- Excellent written and spoken English with presentation skills.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year.
