Job Description
Science Corporation is seeking a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation therapeutic devices, specifically AR glasses. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with experience in precision opto-mechanical systems. This role involves designing, integrating, and fabricating optical and mechanical components, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and optimizing designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.Responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing precision optical and mechanical components for AR glasses.
- Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Developing prototypes and conducting testing.
- Analyzing and resolving optical and mechanical design issues.
- Optimizing designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborating with Clinical and Regulatory teams.
- Directly engaging with hardware assembly and testing through production scale-up.
Key requirements include:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of precision opto-mechanical design experience.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, Solidworks preferred.
- Strong understanding of optical and mechanical principles.
- Understanding of human factors related to wearable devices.
- Strong fabrication skills.
- Mechanical simulation and calculation experience.
- Fluency in DFMA.
- Strong communication skills.
