Accounting Specialist

Job Description

Velocity Electronics is seeking an Accounting Specialist in Austin to support core responsibilities related to general ledger, accounts receivable, and/or accounts payable. The Accounting Specialist will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to help achieve organizational goals, including month-end closing activities, managing receivables collections, and/or processing payables assuring smooth operations and high-quality results.

Role Involves:

• Interacting with business partners, management, and other stakeholders.
• Performing month-end close duties including completing journal entries.
• Processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
• Reconciling service charges to booked costs.
• Reviewing travel and entertainment expense reports.
• Facilitating payment of vendor invoices and employee expense reports.

Requirements:

• 4-year college degree in Accounting.
• 1+ years of experience in Operational or Financial Accounting (AR, AP, etc.).
• Introductory knowledge in operational accounting.
• Working knowledge of applicable local and regional taxes.
• Experience with complex ERP systems preferred.
