Senior Accountant

Job Description

Velocity Electronics is seeking a Senior Accountant in Austin to manage various accounting functions and ensure high-quality results. This role involves managing month-end closing, preparing financial statements, reconciling balance sheet accounts, overseeing fixed asset accounting, and supporting other accounting activities for the United States, Mexico, and Latin America.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing month-end close duties, ensuring adherence to internal deadlines and compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
• Coordinating cross-functionally and cross-regionally to ensure proper recording of financial information, including maintaining intercompany balances.
• Completing assigned sales and property tax filings.

Requirements:

• 4-year college degree in accounting focused on US GAAP.
• 3+ years of experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience handling sensitive, confidential issues and information.
• Introductory knowledge in operational accounting.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, principles, and GAAP standards.
• Computer literate: experience with complex ERP systems preferred.
