Senior Business Analyst

LastPass is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their growing data team. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to uncover insights from complex systems data and connect them to real-world business processes. The Senior Business Analyst's work will support the development of robust, scalable data infrastructure through in-depth analysis, documentation, and feedback that ensures data models reflect operational realities. This role is part of the Data Engineering and Integrations organization.

The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across sales, marketing, product, finance, and engineering teams to bridge the gap between business processes and systems data.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of source system data, logs, and event streams.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand data generation.
• Partner with data engineers to validate transformations and resolve anomalies.
• Investigate data discrepancies across systems.
• Assist in defining and refining key business metrics and dimensions.
• Support the creation of data lineage documentation.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or in a data quality-focused role.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational and/or columnar databases.
• Comfortable working with raw, unmodeled data including event logs, normalized schemas, and API payloads.
• Experience collaborating with data engineering or software engineering teams.
• Experience working with business stakeholders to gather and document project requirements.
• Experience mapping and analyzing business and system processes.
• Strong critical thinking skills and an investigative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
